A new specialty for men's health
A message from the Executive Dean.
Women have gynaecology, a specialty that follows them through every stage of life. Men have had no equivalent. This course exists to change that.
Men live shorter lives than women, and they are less likely to seek care early, accept preventive advice or stay with a treatment plan. Many male patients want a direct solution and resist being told to lose weight, exercise or stop smoking, advice they see as common knowledge. Doctors, in turn, often hesitate to give it.
Our course addresses both sides of that problem. It covers the disorders specific to men in depth, and it also covers conditions in women that are caused by the male partner, and the reverse. Anything that affects the couple is on the agenda, so the partner is never left out.
The lectures are built on real clinical experience and give you a practical approach to evaluating and managing men's health disorders. You study online, around your working life, because the clinic, the home and everyday life are where much of our knowledge is really gained.
Congratulations on starting this journey into a new specialty. Stay curious and focused, and make the most of every chance to learn. Your effort will be well rewarded.
